Meet Your Teacher
Hi! My name is Jan 🙂
I have to tell you that I’ve lived through every one of the situations described in this course- including being a single mom - and my kids have come up right behind me. The feelings of frustration, inadequacy, and anxiousness haven’t been any fun at all for any of us.
While I understand that struggling a bit builds character, (according to my Mom and Dad, ha!), I’ve never understood why all this information couldn’t be found in one place. And boy, did that become more of a pain in my butt when I was attempting to launch my kids into the world!
Despite our struggles my brothers and I made it, and my kids did too. After moving out and becoming financially independent at 19 and 20, both kids are married and have homes and kids of their own.
Oh, and just so you know, neither of my kids were honor roll students. For example, my son failed a lot of classes throughout high school-UGH! (FYI- he did graduate with the help of summer school though.) And neither kid participated in after-school activities. Believe me, I've met hundreds, if not thousands, of successful adults out there, just like them. And the one thing they all have in common is that none of those things were required to get them to a good, happy, successful place in their lives. Although, I will admit that they would've probably made their journey a little easier.
As I always told them and will continue to say to all students, if you really want something bad enough, like being successful, you can find a way to make it happen. And of course, I'm going to suggest you start right away by signing up for my one and only, all-encompassing Life After 18 course.
